In the next 3-5 years, McLives Ltd envisions becoming a leading provider of innovative agro-processing solutions and nutritious, locally sourced food products, significantly reducing post-harvest losses and contributing to the economic growth and food security of Tanzania. So in 3 years we specifically aim to have 5 to 15 porridge stations that we use to distribute our porridge and porridge flour, In other way we also aim to export Tomato Africa Products to Dubai and Saudi Arabia and in that logic we aim to export 1 to 2 containers a month.
McLives Ltd. is dedicated to transforming the agricultural sector in Tanzania by developing innovative technologies, reducing post-harvest losses, and producing nutritious, locally-sourced food products. Our mission is to improve farmers’ livelihoods, enhance food security, and promote sustainable practices, ultimately contributing to the economic, social, and environmental well-being of our community.
McLives Ltd. is a company that’s working to create a more efficient and profitable agricultural sector in Tanzania, from developing new technologies to bringing nutritious and convenient food products to consumers. Processing agricultural products into valuable final goods: McLives we take raw produce and transform it into consumer-ready products like flour, porridge mixes, and canned tomatoes. This helps to reduce waste and make better use of Tanzania’s agricultural resources. Innovation in agro-processing technology: McLives isn’t just focused on creating end products, we’re also developing new technologies to streamline the processing itself. A good example is our cassava peeling machine, which can help to speed up and simplify this laborious task.
McLives Ltd. addresses the challenges of low agricultural productivity, post-harvest losses, limited access to nutritious food, and environmental sustainability by developing innovative farming and processing technologies, creating value-added products, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices to enhance food security, reduce waste, and support local communities.
Low value-added agriculture: Despite a large agricultural workforce (66.6% of the population), the sector contributes only 26.1% to GDP. This indicates a lack of processing industries to transform raw produce into higher-value final products like flour, porridge mixes, and canned goods (as McLives does). This processing gap limits potential profits for farmers and reduces overall economic contribution. Post-harvest losses: With less than 14% of farm produce processed, a significant portion goes to waste after harvest. McLives aims to address this by creating a more efficient processing system that utilizes more produce, reducing waste and increasing farmer income. Limited access to nutritious food: McLives recognizes the lack of readily available healthy food options, particularly near homes, workplaces, and schools. Our focus on nutritious porridge flour provides a convenient and healthy solution for people on the go.
Our project’s objective is to enhance agricultural productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and promote environmental sustainability by developing and implementing innovative technologies such as the Mobile Solar Water Pump (MSWP) and efficient soy processing methods. These solutions aim to create value-added products, improve food security, support local farmers, and contribute to climate change mitigation by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This not only maximizes the use of Tanzania’s agricultural resources but also increases the income of local farmers by creating more marketable products.
1. Local Farmers: By sourcing raw materials like coconuts, milk and grains directly from local farmers, McLives provides them with a reliable market for their produce, thereby increasing their income and supporting the local agricultural economy.

McLives Ltd. addresses the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
1. SDG 2: Zero Hunger – By improving agricultural productivity and reducing post-harvest losses, we contribute to ensuring food security and promoting sustainable agriculture.
2. SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being – Our nutritious food products provide healthier dietary options, contributing to better health outcomes for our community.
3. SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – By creating jobs and supporting local farmers, we foster economic growth and decent work opportunities in the agricultural sector.
4. SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – We promote sustainable consumption and production patterns by minimizing waste and utilizing eco-friendly practices.
5. SDG 13: Climate Action ,through innovative practices in soy farming and processing. By cultivating soybeans, which enhance soil fertility and require fewer resources, we mitigate climate change impacts. Our soy-based products, such as soy meat and soy milk, serve as sustainable alternatives to traditional cow meat and milk, which are significant sources of greenhouse gas emissions due to methane production, manure decomposition, and extensive land use for grazing and feed crops. Furthermore, soybeans fix nitrogen in the soil, reducing the need for synthetic fertilizers and promoting healthier soil. With technologies like the Mobile Solar Water Pump (MSWP), we support sustainable farming practices and efficient water usage. These efforts collectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions, decrease deforestation, and contribute to environmental conservation, aligning with our commitment to climate action and sustainable development.es.
McLives Ltd. is embarking on a multifaceted initiative focused on transforming soybean farming and processing within our community. We are collaborate closely with local farmers to cultivate soybeans sustainably, enhancing yield and soil health through training and resources. Our goal is to establish processing units to produce soy milk, soy meat, soy oil, and soy flour, promoting nutritious, locally sourced alternatives to conventional products. Additionally, we are developing a robust distribution network to ensure these products reach markets, schools, and hospitals effectively. Through community engagement and education, including workshops and awareness campaigns, we will empower farmers and consumers alike with knowledge of the nutritional and environmental benefits of soy-based products. Continuous monitoring and evaluation will guide our efforts to ensure long-term impact and sustainability in agriculture and food security.
